My Story

Hello! My name is Stacy and I am a Mixed Media and Encaustic (hot wax) Artist. I live in West Virginia with my husband, who is my best friend and my biggest supporter.

I am blessed to have a studio surrounded by nature, full of paintbrushes, piles of vintage items, carts full of paint and lots of works in progress. This is my favorite place to be. I am always creating and bringing to life several ideas and art pieces at once. My studio is a messy, creative and energetic space.

I am drawn to encaustic mixed media for the simplicity of the materials and the complexity in the layers. My encaustic paintings are made with beeswax and damar resin (a natural tree sap that acts as a hardening agent). I paint in layers, fusing each layer with heat.

Creativity is in my soul. It's the best part of me. I am fulfilled by the act of creating. When making art, I am the best version of me.

You can usually find me in my studio with a torch in hand or rummaging through drawers full of lost and found treasures.

I wish for people not only to see my art, but feel it. I hope for there to be an interaction. I want people to come close to see the layers, to feel the texture, and then step back again to see the entire composition. I want them to feel my passion, vulnerability and courage.

Faded vintage photos, garage sale junk, rusty metal pieces. torn fabric, music of all kinds, anything and everything in nature, books, and human connections inspire me. When I am not painting you can find me outside exploring, at flea markets searching for more vintage treasures, snuggled up reading or dreaming up the next art series.

I am a knowledge seeker and love experimenting with new media and techniques. I like to add texture and layers to my work and then uncover the bits and pieces that speak to me. I believe that celebrating memories and telling our stories makes a difference.

I hope to inspire many people to leave a lasting legacy of their life, their passion and their loves
