Pod 54

$30.00

One of a Kind Air Plant Pods are a creative way to display low maintenance houseplants or air plants.

My pods started out as a 100 day challenge on Instagram and turned into a passion for crochet, encaustic wax, and experimentation.

While encaustic wax and a crochet pattern were the bases of each design, I found myself individualizing them using elements of ink, watercolor, shellac, oil sticks, foil and even tar as materials. I learned to add color from natural dyes of steaming flowers and vegetables and also applied rusting techniques I used in other projects.
