Day 44

I really love how the burnt orange color from the wood glue compliments the green encaustic paint.

Days 45 & 46

One of the things that I love about encaustic is the opaque and translucent colors. I love that by layering these together with other materials some layers still peek thru.

Day 47

Play and experimenting is important. Letting go of striving to create something perfect and instead, just allowing things to unfold in response to what the piece of art is telling me usually always leads to something magical.

Days 48 & 49

Using painters tape to mask off areas. The trick when working with encaustic and painters tape is to remove the tape when the paint is still slightly warm, but not hot.

Day 50
