Things don’t go as planned and The art of plaster

Hi there - If you are new around here and want to start from the beginning take a look at this post. Mini explorations is all about experimenting and I really have no idea how each piece will turn out. This week I thought for sure plaster would stick to the mat board pieces, I was wrong. Every time something does not work out it’s an opportunity to toss the idea out or come up with a new plan of attack. So before I give away what happened take a peek at the videos, pictures and the art of plaster.

Day 37 & 38

There is not a process video for Day 38 as it is very similar to Day 37 encaustic process.

If you don’t follow me over on Instagram and want to vote come follow me. Every Friday I put up a poll and you get to vote on what I use in the next weeks mixed media creations. It’s fun to see what the majority prefers.

Day 39, 40, & 41

More experimenting with plaster. This time using plaster wrap, encaustic paint, a heat gun and torch, and some tar and oil stick to fill in and bring out the mixed media texture.
