encaustic art painting techniques using transparent layers
These little mini paintings are all about transparent layers. This week I am creating with old pattern making paper and tea bags along with encaustic paint.
I was surprised and excited when over on the Gram the votes came in and it was a tie for both tea bags and sewing pattern paper. So who am I to argue - why not create with both?
Day 71
Days 72 & 73
This small painting has a bigger meaning - that is the meaning of home.
In these strange times, times where we are encouraged to stay home, it may feel like we are being confined to our home. That our home is locking us in and cutting us off from the world.
However, it is important to remember that our homes is where love is, it is where we laugh and cry, it is full of wonderful memories, it is full of our hopes and dreams. Our homes are our sanctuaries.
Adding some texture to this piece with the rolled sewing pattern paper and highlighting the tea stains with an India ink pen.
Days 74 & 75
Getting out the sewing machine for these pieces. I am not a precise seamstress by any stretch of the imagination, but I love how scribbly stitches add another dimension to a piece.
