If you are new around here and want to start from the beginning take a look at this post and then come on back over here.

You guys voted (over on the Gram) for me to create with dried flowers and leaves for this week.

Like most items in my studio, my iron does not get used for the purpose it was intended to be used for. Leaves are a lot more interesting than a wrinkled shirt :)

Day 76

All of the plants ands flowers used this week came from our flower beds or from our house plants.

I like to save any leaves and petals that have fallen off the plants. I hang on to them to create with and to draw inspiration from.

Days 77 & 78

This little mini painting started out as a demo piece to explain all of the layers that go into an encaustic painting. If you ever have any questions or want me to explain or demonstrate anything please don’t hesitate to ask. Just drop me and email or send me a message on Instagram.

Some small flower paintings made out of real rose petals.

I know I’m not suppose to have favorites, but this one could be my favorite.

Day 79

A true mixed media encaustic piece with encaustic paint, pencils, a pressed leaf, and some tar to bring out the texture.

Day 80

Using a small bush to add in some details to the dried flowers. The small paintings require small detail brushes.

I hope you enjoyed the behind the scenes look - if you want even more sneak peeks be sure to sign up for my newsletter.

When you sign up you will also get first dibs when the paintings are released in November!!

If you don’t follow me over on Instagram and want to vote come follow me. Every Friday I put up a poll and you get to vote on what I use in the next weeks creations. It’s fun to see what the majority prefers.

Bye for now - Stacy
